Thank you Doreen, and congratulations on the adoption! I hope you find your piano. If I had to buy a piano again, I don’t think I’d buy a black shiny one a second time, always issues with fingerprints and much too delicate, easy to scratch. I think I’d buy a regular wood finished one that could withstand some dents from kids and easier to dust :).

I happened on your site and saw your beautiful daughter making buns. Then read about piano lessons that are fun and free. We just adopted 4 siblings from foster care ages 10, 8, 5 and 4. They would so benefit from piano! We can’t afford it but now we can. I will be on the hunt for a used piano now. Blessings to you and your little one.

I’m not sure about my area as I never looked into it, but my mom told me she did an extensive search when I was 3, and no one wanted to take a child so young. Finally, after many rejections, she found a place that took me.

I’m usually all about early teaching, but I totally get why lessons under 5 is not recommended. When I was trying to teach my daughter with the Conservatory books, it felt very similar to trying to teach a baby Calculus, she just wasn’t ready for it. With Mr. Hoffman’s lessons, it’s more like music play 🙂

We haven’t explored it with our children, since we don’t have a piano in our house (and no room/funds to purchase one!)

Thanks for sharing at The Thoughtful Spot!
